DULUTH - Duluth police were searching for a man Tuesday that they say was involved in a shooting near the Whole Foods Co-Op. It happened at 5:51 p.m.  Police were called to 7th Avenue East and 4th Street and arrived to a 21-year-old Duluth man bleeding from the leg. According to police, at least three black men were fighting over a bag the victim had. Police say the suspect then pulled out a handgun and shot the victim in the leg. The shooter was last seen running eastbound through the alley with the bag. Police say the shooting was not random. Multiple witnesses reported hearing a gun shot and some even watched the scene unfold. "There was a big bang, a gunshot or something,” said James Bunnell who lives across the street from where the shooting happened. “I thought it was a fire cracker. It was a black guy that got shot." Another victim said she was walking to her car when she heard gunshots. She then helped the victim to the ground after he was shot. "This guy came running towards me and I didn't know if he was the one who had the gun so I got in my car, but then I saw another guy running up 4th street and so this guy fell and there was like blood coming from his leg." The victim was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Police describe the shooter as a black man, 18 to 19 years old, standing at about 5'7" to 5'8", with a thin build. He was wearing a white t-shirt, black pants and dark shoes.Police want you to call 911 if you know anything.
