VIRGINIA - A Virginia man is facing charges after authorities said he choked a police officer.
According to court documents, officers were called to the area of Veterans Park and Bailey's Lake on August 1 at 2:07 p.m. to a report of a man who had taken his clothes off.
Officers arrived to find Vincent Muccio, 43, wearing only a t-shirt and his underwear and took him to the emergency room, police said.
One of the officers advised his fellow officer that Muccio had been making threats to "karate chop him in the neck", according to court documents.
At the hospital, police said Muccio put his hand around one of the officer's necks to the point where the officer could not breathe.
The officer was able to break free and Muccio was sedated by emergency room staff.
The officer said he felt pain in his throat for about four hours after being choked.
Muccio was charged with assault on a peace officer in the fourth degree and obstructing legal process.
