Candy Making Techniques Taught at the Library

DULUTH - Candy lovers got a treat at the Duluth Public Library Thursday night.

Great Lakes Candy Kitchen took a trip to Duluth to show their special candy making techniques.

They use antique candy machines, a copper kettle and always add lots of butter and cream.

One of the owners, Pamela Matson, said old techniques are better for candy making.

"We promised we would never change the recipes and we don't. So, we keep on adding lots of butter and cream and it just adds to people's memories if they can have the exact same candy they had when they were younger," said Pamela Matson, Great Lakes Candy Kitchen partner.

The Great Lakes Candy Kitchen is located in Knife River and is open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily.
