Superior Residents Weigh in on Potential Waterfront Hotel

SUPERIOR - People living in Superior got another chance to weigh in on a potential waterfront hotel Wednesday afternoon.
Hotel investors are looking at the piece of land between the Bong Museum and Perkins on Highway 2.
Superior residents are consistently saying it's not the right spot, but officials think the proposal is perfect.
"We need this in Superior,” said Superior resident and chamber member, Matt Christy. “I think that if they want to invest in our town, in our city - and what a great opportunity we have to build that on our waterfront and let more people enjoy what we have here."
"I think it's important that the people of Superior have some say in this and not just a few talking heads," said Susan Chandler who spoke on her mother’s behalf.
Last week, the Superior Planning Commission passed a ‘TIF’ plan, or a funding plan for the new hotel.
The Superior City Council is set to take up the topic in August.
