Ashland Prepares for 'Rock the Dock' Fundraiser

ASHLAND - People living in Ashland are itching to get out on the old Ore Dock.
The mayor is planning to open the steel gates in August to get people excited about what the old dock could become and to fundraise.
Last month, the city bought the dock from the railroad company with the goal of making it a tourist destination and a fishing spot for the locals.
"The sooner we can make it safe for the general public I think the more everybody's going to be darn glad that they bought it," said Former Mayor of Ashland, Ed Monroe.
Rock the Dock is August 9 and will be at the base of the Ore Dock.
