DULUTH - Seven students from Duluth East High School were recognized by the city Thursday for their community project.
They made a documentary about student diversity at their school, held an assembly, had a panel at Citizen's in Action and hosted a student forum on safe schools.
The goal was to get students talking about the issue.
"It was really important to bring those values to the students and make sure that people recognize and just celebrate the differences that we all have," said Ji-Won Choi, a student who participated in the project.
The documentary took about a year to put together.
The students' efforts also brought a national speaker to Duluth high schools to tackle bullying.
