Booming Summer Tourism for Bayfield

BAYFIELD - Bayfield's summer tourism is seeing a big boost, and they believe it's largely thanks to the Apostle Island Ice Caves.

They're seeing many people who visited during the winter, coming back anxious to see the town and the caves in the summer.

Kelley Linehan, Marketing Events Manager with the Bayfield Chamber of Commerce and Visitor's Bureau said, "We had all that rain early on, so it slowed things down, or so it seemed. But, in reality, there was still more people here than we generally see even though the weather was marginal."

She also says the best time to visit Bayfield is mid week, so you can explore without the crowded weekend streets.
