DULUTH - Cook County's district attorney, Tim Scannell was back in court Thursday on two counts of fourth degree criminal sexual conduct for an incident involving a teenage girl.
During the hearing the defense attorney and prosecutor gave arguments about whether an expert witness should be allowed.
They have to have their briefs about the expert to the judge by the end of the day Tuesday.
After that the judge will make a decision within two days on whether to allow the witness and/or issue a continuance which would push the trial back.
As of right now jury selection is scheduled to begin on July 18th and end on the 21st which is when the trial would also begin.
Scannell is still on medical leave from his job.
