Community Garden Opens

DULUTH- A neighborhood has come together to create a way to offer healthy vegetables to those who wouldn't normally have access.

It's been several years in the making, but the "Faith Community Garden," officially opened Sunday.

Lester Park Elementary students planted veggies that will be available for the school in the fall and there are plots devoted entirely for CHUM's food shelf.

Board member, Ben Johnson said, "it's been a great learning environment for the children. It's been great for CHUM and it's been great for members of the community that didn't have room for garden beds like this on their own property."

Organizers say there are still plots available if you want to participate.

The Faith Lutheran Church says they have plenty of people to help if you don't have the greenest thumb.
