Bessemer Man in Custody After Eluding Police

BESSEMER - A 19 year old Bessemer Township man is in custody this morning following a short vehicle pursuit and a foot chase that occurred shortly after midnight.
His current charges include Fleeing and Eluding a Police Officer, Resisting and Obstructing an Officer, Reckless Driving and Driving While License Suspended.
Once the suspect was taken into custody, a significant quantity of Marijuana and other drug paraphernalia was located in his vehicle.
An additional charge of Possession with Intent to Deliver Marijuana was added. His bond is currently set at $50,000 @10%.
He will face a Felony Arraignment on Monday in Gogebic County's 98th District Court.
The Sheriff's Office was assisted by Beacon Ambulance and the Michigan State Police.
