New Multi-Million Dollar Project for Giants Ridge

BIWABIK - Minnesota legislators and the IRRRB have awarded nearly $10 million to a four season recreation area on the Iron Range.
The money will be used to build a brand new event center for Giants Ridge Golf and Ski Resort.
Giants Ridge will replace its old and problematic chalet-base ski area with a more than 34,000 square foot event center.
The new facility will house the resort's ski services, equipment rentals, food and beverage venues and more.
Giants Ridge management said the project will create more than 200 jobs.
"It will help enhance our place, our presence in the recreational market,” Giants Ridge Golf and Ski Resort Managing Director Linda Johnson said. “We feel that we're setting the stage for the next 30 years of activities here at the facility and into the future."
Construction for the event center will start later this summer.
It's expected to wrap up by the end of 2015.
