Camp Helps Northland Kids Recover from Flood

CLOQUET - It's been almost two years since more than 10 inches of rain destroyed parts of the Northland.Wednesday, the 2nd annual disaster preparedness camp helped kids heal from the devastation.
Northland kids were taught what to do if their community experienced another disaster.
The elementary–aged group was taught basic first aid, CPR and how to handle stress.
"They'll feel like they're a little bit more comfortable, a little bit more calm just so they can help out," Minnesota Health Occupations Students of America North region Vice President Kaitlin Roper said.
Kids we spoke to say they're glad they came.
"I didn't know about this camp but once my mom told me about it I said yea I really wanna go," disaster camp attendee J.D. Johnston said.
"I hope other kids get a lot out of this because it's very fun," said Tyler Kern who also attended the camp.
Organizers are hoping to hold another camp this August.
