ST. PAUL - Governor Mark Dayton has signed a bill into law giving advanced practice nurses more responsibilities.
The law expands the scope of practices for certain nurses by allowing them to conduct interventional pain procedures.
The bill drew criticism from some doctors who felt lowering the qualifications in this field could be very risky.
But those representing advanced practice nurses in Minnesota say they're already performing these procedures and were just asking that laws be written more clearly so nurses can practice to their full ability.
